Floresta - Post 4

January 19, 2015

This week has been a pretty good week :)

Monday:  We had p-day.  We stayed at home to rest and clean.  It was nice to just relax a bit and organize (I know what you´re thinking, ¿¿Who is this girl??)  That afternoon we visited with some members to help them share the gospel.  It was good.

Tuesday: We had interviews with the president.  We learned a WHOLE LOT!  It was great and we put goals to be more bold with people.  That afternoon we put it in practice and we talked with a lot of people! But they weren't really interested but that´s okay.  We at least gave them the opportunity to choose :)  Also that night we had a meeting with the relief society president to talk about the families we could visit and we made plans to start up a monthly ward family home evening.  We really hope that it helps unify the ward and that people invite their friends to a fu activity in the church :)

Wednesday:  Was alright.  We went to visit a less-active family that lives a little far away.  They let us in the house but nobody was paying attention to what we shared.  I got so frustrated because they need what we have to share.  But it´s up to them to listen and accept.  IT rained quite a bit that day.  That night I cut my companion´s hair!  She had wanted to cut her hair and we always said i was going to cut it as a joke, but we actually DID IT!  It didn't turn out too bad if i do say so myself :)

Thursday:  We had weekly planing.  During weekly planning we got a text from ofelia saying that she wasn't feeling so good and wanted us to come over and talk and read the scriptures.  This is the same less-active who is also a die-hard fan of pride and prejudice.  We were in shock. When we visit her she NEVER reads from the book of mormon.  SHe just listens.  But we went by and read Mosíah 24 with her and then talked about trails and submitting ourselves patiently to the will of the Lord.  It was a super great lesson and we all felt the spirit.  I hope we see some progress there :)  That night we had dinner with a part-member family.  They come to church basically every sunday but the husband wants to get married and baptized "later"  and when he´s "ready" But he isn´t doing anything to prepare himself.  But yeah we ate cow heart....Yeah it wasn´t too bad.  The texture was a bit different and it didn´t taste bad.  But it was the HEART of a COW.  Yeah i am still stuck on that one too...

Friday:  We had divisions with the STL´s found a lot of really great people that said they wanted to go to church and accepted the baptismal invitation.  So i was super excited :)  we went and visited a recent convert and he had about 4 friends over to visit.  So we talked with them.  THey didn´t really have a lot of interest and they were joking around at the beginning but by the end of the chat they sat there thinking.  We caused some serious reflexion.  Maybe there will be some progress there in the future.  THat night it started to rain too.

Saturday:  We went by to visit the people we found but we couldn´t find them :(  WE also had Correlation meeting with the ward mission leader that night and it took forever because they were having a birthday party and we had to wait for them to finish. But we got pizza, coca cola, empenadas, and birthday cake as an apology, so we forgave him :)

SUnday:  We went by to  find the people who said they were going to come to church but NOBODY answered their doors or their phones.  So we went to church.  That afternoon we went to eat at the Bishop´s house. On the way it started to POUR.  It came out of NOWHERE! So we went home to put on our rain boots and it cleared up.  That always happens to us, but oh well.  We met Maria that afternoon.  SHe was a referral of her neighbor.  She is great and wants to go to church and accepted the baptismal invite.  She said once she went into a coma and remembers faintly the she saw an image of Christ and also an image of a Church that wasn´t her current church.  SHe said she doesn´t remember very well but that she is looking for that church. So we are excited to work with her.  It looks promising :)

Other random things that i don´t remember what days they happened:

We started counting creeper points (When random dudes in the street hit on you or do creepy things)  I racked up about 5,000 this week,  IT was really interesting.....

We´ve been seeing a lot of slugbugs here but we decided to change it it hugbugs.  So we randomly hug each other in the street whenever we see one.  It is great :)

We have also discovered mouse poopies in our apartment..... SO we bought rat poison.  One night the Zone leaders called us to give us a sort of pep talk when we thought we herd a mouse.  SO we hopped up on our chairs and were trying to listen for the mouse.  Then i hopped down grabbed the broom and decided to see if i could find it.  So we were mouse hunting while the zone leaders were talking to us.  They asked us a question and we didn´t really hear it so we said something along the lines of "Yes, we do have the faith that there are people prepared to receive the gospel in our area."  THen they were like "Hermanas, did you even hear what we asked?"  We just kinda looked at each other and i said "Honestly Elder, no we didn´t. We´re mouse hunting right now.  We appreciate your concern and we understand what you´re trying to tell us."  They started to laugh and we ended the call.

SO Yeah, that´s my week.  Love you all and SHARE THE GOSPEL!!!
