Lima - Post 12

August 11, 2014

This week has been SO BUSY!  We are teaching people like crazy!  For those missionaries out, there we had 13 lessons with members.  We were a little sad about that, but then we counted that we had 31 Other Lessons! If we had had a member in ever lesson we would have had 44 Lessons with member!  FUA!  we are finding and teaching so many people but we are really focusing on those who will progress and be baptized.  Like the MUGA FAMILY!

Ohmylanta the Muga family are seriously the best!  I feel like they are MY FAMILY!  Their baptism was so special and so great.  I feel like I have learned more from them than they have learned from us.  While teaching them we have seen how applying the gospel in the family makes all the difference.  They are so much happier and things are just better in their home.  They are so excited to go to the temple and be sealed for eternity!  I am going to do all I can so that next August and I can be there for their sealing.  They are seriously THE BEST!

I love being here in Lima. We are seriously seeing miracles.  One of those miracles is Juan Jose (his nickname is Pipi).  We found Juan Jose after about 6 referrals.  His brother lives next to him and he told us to go and visit him, so we did.  We talked to him and it turns out his girlfriend in Zarate is a member and he went went with her to church a couple times some years ago.  We chatted and invited him to go to church and he said yeah.  We also invited him to be baptized on the 30th and he said yeah.  He said yeah to pretty much everything.  We didn't really think anything about it because the people who say yeah to everything don´t really do what they say they will.  But we passed by sunday morning and expected him to be asleep, but he was up and ready to go. WHA?!? We were shocked. SO we said see you there at 9:30 then went by to see if any of our other investigators were up, and they weren't.  We went to the church and right when we got there Juan did too.  And it turns out that he knows some of the members!  He enjoyed the classes and afterwards, he said "And the baptism, I accept.  When will it be?"  That Sunday was when the Muga Family were confirmed and when we talked to  Juan Jose he said he felt something when they were confirmed and he wanted that too.  AHHHH! We were so excited!  Things are doing great here in Lima.  Transfers are in 2 weeks and I REALLY hope that I get to stay here.

AS for some funny moments, One night we ran into a recent convert in the street and he told us he got a new phone, so we saved the number in our phone and we called him so he would have our number.  SO I dailed his new number and his phone rings.... his ringtone was Britney Spear´s "Oops, I did it again."  BAHAHAHA! It took all my strength not to bust out into laughter in that moment!  And He isn´t a super young guy either.  That song has been stuck in my head ever since...

Sunday afternoon we went by the house of a less active to see if we could visit her.  Her cat was walking around outside so I picked it up, but it didn´t want to be picked up.  So it was struggling to get out of my arms and I was trying to make it be calm.  When finally I just let it jump out of my arms thinking that it would land on it´s feet.  People say that cats ALWAYS land on their feet, but I am here to tell you that they DO NOT!  The dumb thing landed on it´s head! Every time I think about that moment I just burst into laughter!  I think it is one of the funniest things i have EVER SEEN!

SO yeah things are great and I´m am happy and healthy once again :)  The Lord is seriously the best and He loves us.  He wants us to be happy and succesful in our efforts.  I have seen that so many times these past 4 weeks and I am so grateful to be here doing His will.  I LOVE MY CALLING!
